Kite Postcards

I have started collecting kite postcards from various internet old postcard sites. I do not buy the actual postcards, merely take screen shots of them (much cheaper!). This means that I do not have details of the origins of the cards, so this is just an uninterpreted collection of images. I have employed a very simple selection criterion: whether I find it of any interest, either historical, artistic or amusing. This criterion also includes “kites on the beach” of whatever period, cute children with boring kites, cartoons and the like. There are lots of these, unfortunately. But all is grist to the postcard historian’s mill.

Since this is an international site, to get the best results you also need to search for ‘cerf volant’ and ‘drachen’ (though the last also brings big scaly creatures from out of their lairs).
